1986 – First products sold

AyurVeda AG started its business in 1986 under its first managing director, Andreas Amacher, distributing five Ayurvedic products (churnas for vata, pitta and kapha, as well as two rasayanas). These products, and those that later expanded the range, were sold in a small shop in the «old bakery» in the village of Seelisberg, in the canton of Uri. Soon the first parcels were sent by post to customers living further away.

1997 – First expansion

Interest in the world’s oldest health system grew steadily in the following years, so that in 1997 AyurVeda AG was able to move into newly renovated offices and run a larger warehouse in the former Hotel Waldhaus, above the Rütli.

1998 – First online shop

At the same time, the AyurVeda AG team grew too. The range, now comprising several hundred products, and the steadily increasing orders from private customers as well as from retailers and therapists required more staff. In-depth product knowledge and conscientious advice to customers have always been essential requirements for joining the team. And of course, our employees are still the most loyal users of our Ayurvedic products and put our health recommendations into practice!

Thanks to the commercial success of AyurVeda AG, the company soon reached the limits of its development possibilities in Seelisberg. The offices had become too small and, despite very clever organisation, every centimetre of the warehouse was taken up by goods. However, the site could no longer be extended.

2016 – Planning of a new building begins

In keeping with the age-old knowledge of Ayurveda, the company’s new building was designed and built according to the principles of Vedic architecture, vastu (sthapatya veda), a science that makes it possible to live and work in accordance with the laws of nature and brings well-being and success on all levels.

2017 – Groundbreaking and foundation stone for the VEDA House

2018 – Move from Seelisberg to Rain

The move brought changes in the team: some of the employees who had been there from the beginning chose a new direction in their working lives, and many experts joined AyurVeda AG.

Today

We are proud of what AyurVeda AG has achieved: the first Swiss company to commit consistently to Ayurveda more than 35 years ago, it can now draw on a wealth of experience. As a pioneer that has always combined the sale of products with in-depth knowledge of the world’s oldest health system, we are committed to continuing our activities with authenticity, sincerity and safety. We only sell products from reliable sources and from suppliers who put ethics and honesty above short-lived business. A high-quality, genuine natural product should be sold at a fair price. Today and tomorrow, we are committed, without compromise and with pleasure, to the health of our customers and to spreading authentic Ayurveda.
