Our history
From the old bakery to the VEDA House
Almost 40 years ago, Ayurveda began to take root in Europe. In Switzerland, AyurVeda AG has shaped this development from the very beginning.
- 1986
The first products
Under the first managing director, Andreas Amacher, the sale of five Ayurvedic products – Vata, Pitta and Kapha Churna as well as two rasayanas – begins in the “old bakery” in Seelisberg. The first parcels soon leave by post.
- 1997
More space in Seelisberg
New offices and a larger warehouse in the former “Waldhaus” hotel above the Rütli meadow. “Classic Ayurveda” and other suppliers join “Maharishi Ayurveda”.
- 1998
The first online shop
One of the first online shops for Ayurvedic products. The range and the team grow; in addition to private customers, more and more therapists and retailers order from us.
- 2016
Plans for a new building
Seelisberg becomes too small. The board of directors and management decide on a new building in the canton of Lucerne, designed according to the principles of Vedic architecture (Vastu).
- 2017
Groundbreaking in Rain
Groundbreaking on 24 February, laying of the foundation stone on 3 April – according to Vedic tradition. This is how Switzerland's first multi-storey Vastu commercial building came into being.
- 2018
Moving into the VEDA House
On 18 April 2018, the VEDA House in Rain is inaugurated with a Vedic ceremony in the presence of many guests.

Ayurveda for everyone
Around 700 products, a shop with advice, courses and consultations – and the goal of creating a centre of excellence for Ayurveda in Rain.

Quality & safety
Traceable origin
For all our products, we ensure traceable origin, organic cultivation wherever possible and gentle processing. Our main suppliers are Maharishi Ayurveda Products India (MAP India) and Amla Natur.
Our products from India come from MAP India, which works according to traditional recipes with certified processes. As only tested goods are delivered, an item may occasionally be temporarily unavailable.
VEDA House in Rain
Our headquarters built according to Vedic architecture
Since April 2018, the VEDA House at Chrummweid 1 in Rain has been our home. The five-storey building was designed according to the principles of Sthapatya Veda (Vastu); the natural garden with its water feature is laid out according to the elements of water, fire, earth and air.
In addition to our offices and warehouse, you will find our shop, Ayurveda consultations and courses, as well as other practices for yoga, meditation, psychology and coaching.

10% of our shares are issued as “VEDA Tokens”; each token corresponds to one share in AyurVeda AG. As a shareholder, you vote at the general meeting and share in the distributed profits.
This capital is intended to help us create a centre of excellence for Ayurveda in Rain. Please note: there is no right to repayment of the capital invested.
